Wright State came into the tournament as the league’s top seed after capturing the regular-season title, continuing a dominant run that has included multiple conference championships in recent years. The Raiders finished league play at 17–7 and sit at 26–27 overall, leaning on a balanced offensive attack and plenty of postseason experience. The team’s lineup has been one of the Horizon League’s most consistent offensive threats. Pitching depth and familiarity with their home ballpark could also play a key role for Wright State, which is hosting the tournament.
Oakland, meanwhile, entered the season as a projected contender and has shown flashes of that potential throughout the year. Though less consistent than Wright State, the Golden Grizzlies have proven they can compete with the league’s best and have already navigated the early rounds of the tournament to reach this matchup. Their ability to manufacture runs and capitalize on mistakes makes them a dangerous opponent in a double-elimination format.
Fans can expect a competitive, high-stakes game where Wright State’s experience meets Oakland’s resilience. Tune in to watch as the teams play for a shot at a title which would give them an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.
