Archival footage: A look at the California Governor’s Mansion through the years
I’m sure your life has changed considerably from the days when you were the wife of the attorney General, now being first more to personal but family. Well, you do take uh uh quite *** hand in in maintaining the household though, don’t you? Uh, yes, of course I, I don’t have to dust anymore. I don’t have to cook. I like to cook. I miss that, but I really don’t have time for it. They keep me busy doing other things. I do supervise the household staff and plan the menus and that sort of make sure the wash gets out and things like that. But I don’t have to do it anymore. How do you like living in the mansion? There’s been *** lot of talk about it lately, *** fire trap, but it is elegant and gracious, certainly. It has *** great deal of charm. I enjoy it. Um, when I first moved in, I had *** problem sleeping. It’s uh. 16th Street isn’t the quietest street in Sacramento. It is the main highway east, as you know, and the noise of the trucks bothered me *** great deal, and I noticed the stairs too at first. There are I think it’s interesting the way you beat the noise. I put in some shutters to deaden and then run the air conditioning even in the winter. That helps. Noises noise. I Great. Like Right It Fred McCan’s I forgot to let you. how are you? Thank you very much. Happy New Year to you. Thank you very much. and I think out of it will come *** positive climate for investment which I think we have. I think we compare very favorably with other states around the nation, and I want to make sure that occurs. To them about environmental questions, I raised questions about affirmative action and equal opportunity about job development. They in turn raised questions about regulatory decisions and delay in coming to conclusions. you, you guys stand up. I wanna stand up. You need my 10, I’ll just sit here. Robert’s Robert’s. It’s Robert’s show. I was here yesterday. I don’t wanna make it *** habit, uh, come up with some ideas and law changes were necessary. He has provided this administration with insight and ideas and energy, the likes of which I don’t think have been seen in Sacramento or in state government and whatever assignments he goes on to, I’m gonna be calling on him for help in the months ahead in various capacities and then. Uh, the next few weeks and months or however long it takes, uh, I’ve asked him to be my special assistant to help us solve if we can this malpractice crisis and all its.
