Driver dies, another injured after Highway 50 collision by Tahoe ski resort sign, CHP says

A driver died Saturday after a freeway collision in the Sierra by a ski resort entrance, the California Highway Patrol said.The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. along Highway 50 at Sierra-At-Tahoe Road by the Sierra-At-Tahoe Resort sign, CHP said. Photos shared by the agency show a Chevrolet Tahoe with major front-end damage and a Honda Fit with severe damage all over.CHP said a 33-year-old man from Sacramento, driving the Honda, was going westbound on Highway 50, approaching the ski resort sign. At the same time, a 41-year-old Chevrolet driver was going westbound when the Honda crossed into the path of the Chevy.The Chevy driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, but the Honda driver died at the scene. No other people were reported to have been in either vehicle.Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash. The identity of the driver who died was also not released.See news happening? A driver died Saturday after a freeway collision in the Sierra by a ski resort entrance, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP said a 33-year-old man from Sacramento, driving the Honda, was going westbound on Highway 50, approaching the ski resort sign. At the same time, a 41-year-old Chevrolet driver was going westbound when the Honda crossed into the path of the Chevy.
The Chevy driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, but the Honda driver died at the scene. No other people were reported to have been in either vehicle.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash. The identity of the driver who died was also not released.
