A motorcyclist was hospitalized Saturday night following a collision involving a suspected DUI driver in Fresno.
Fresno Police Lt. Marcus Gray II said officers responded just before 9:30 p.m. to a vehicle-versus-motorcycle crash near Ashlan and Bond avenues.
When officers arrived, they found the motorcycle rider lying on the sidewalk nearby.
Officers immediately began rendering medical aid. The rider was conscious but did not communicate with officers before being taken to a local hospital.
His condition is unknown.
Gray said the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Ashlan Avenue approaching Bond Avenue when a vehicle made a left-hand turn in front of the motorcycle, causing the crash.
Police said the cause of the collision remains under investigation. However, officers detained the vehicle’s driver at the scene. After completing their investigation, they arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.
