BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The trial for a woman accused of driving under the influence and causing a crash that killed a married couple last March was pushed back on Friday until late August, according to Kern County court records.
Court records show Anabell Correa’s trial was postponed to August 31, 2026.
A Kern County judge found sufficient evidence in February 2026 connecting Correa to the incident.

Correa is accused of driving under the influence and crashing into a rideshare vehicle, killing passengers Desiree Mooney and Max Mooney as they were returning home from a Saint Patrick’s Day celebration on March 16, 2025, at Stockdale Highway and Gosford Road.

According to court documents, Correa, 21 at the time, was the sole occupant and driver of the other vehicle and admitted to drinking, telling police, “I drank one twisted tea, bro.” She was also heard saying, “I’m never seeing my kid, huh, just because I drove and drank one, two drinks.”
Correa was traveling eastbound on Stockdale Highway and failed to stop for a red light before hitting the other vehicle, according to records.

Records also showed Correa’s blood alcohol level was 0.088%, above the 0.080% legal limit. Correa was also allegedly driving without a license.
Anabell Correa, 22, faces 10 charges, including two counts of murder and several DUI-related charges. A judge also found several additional enhancements to be true, which could add time to Correa’s possible sentence.
