Eagle Rock—A new “Karen Bass Office of the Mayor” sign went up in front of Eagle Rock City Hall on Colorado Boulevard last week. Two days later, it was gone. The building contains a field office for City Council District 14, and is not usually associated with the mayor. But the mayor’s office has had staff working out of there for nearly a year, according to Sergio Godinez, a spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass. “We’re working with [the City’s General Services Department] to identify the right kind of signage,” Godinez said.

Call for nuisance abatement in El Sereno
El Sereno—Councilmember Ysabel Jurado is calling for nuisance abatement proceedings at 5100, 5106, and 5110 Huntington Dr., where she says a developer allowed vacant buildings to become unsecured and then conducted unpermitted demolition. Jurado’s proposal would use $104,000 from a city repair and demolition fund for abatement, with the city seeking repayment from the property owner. Motion
Jurado opposes Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project
Highland Park— Councilmember Ysabel Jurado introduced a resolution opposing the Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project, citing objections from the Gabrieleno Band of Mission Indians-Kizh Nation, potential harm to habitat and century-old trees, and insufficient community engagement. The resolution says San Pascual Park and city parklands along the Arroyo Seco should remain public open space and urges Pasadena and South Pasadena to abandon the project. Motion
