SAN ANTONIO — Two young children found dead inside a burned vehicle earlier this month died from sharp force injuries, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said on Tuesday.

Six-year-old Aleeza and 5-year-old Adrian were found dead inside a burned white Hyundai in the early morning hours of May 15.

Their mother, 34-year-old Marlene Vidal, has been charged with capital murder and arson in connection to her children’s deaths.

On Tuesday, the medical examiner’s office released the official cause and manner of death for the two children.

Both children’s cause of death was ruled as “homicidal violence with sharp force injuries” and their manner of death, homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Vidal remains in custody at the Bexar County Jail on two counts of capital murder and one charge of arson. Her bond was set at more than $2 million.
