Re “Lawmakers seek to hide truth about bullet train” (May 18): So the California State Assembly thinks the way to deal with the ongoing bullet train debacle is to pass legislation to hide the true cost, as if we didn’t already know.
Readers and voters, the cost of your bullet train that started at $33 billion has now soared to $231 billion, with no end in sight and not one mile of track in use. The finished project will supposedly take passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco in about 2½ hours. Please note that we can fly the same route in about an hour and 25 minutes.
I am writing my Assembly member to please pull the plug on this project and stop throwing billions of good taxpayer dollars after bad.
