The Clovis Rodeo Association announced today that it has been selected by Senator Shannon Grove’s office as the 2026 California Nonprofit of the Year honoree, one of several nonprofits recognized throughout the state for their community contributions and service.
The recognition is the first for the association and is part of a partnership with the California Association of Nonprofits celebrating organizations that go above and beyond in their communities.
Having celebrated its 112th rodeo this spring, the association supports local educational organizations including 4-H and FFA, provides scholarships for students and supports local youth programs. It also extends its reach beyond education, providing support for veterans services, supporting Fresno State’s Veterans Education Program, health care support through partnerships with Valley Children’s Healthcare, Central California Blood Center and Community Health System.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition,” said Danny Swenson, President of the Clovis Rodeo Association. “For more than a century, the Clovis Rodeo has been about more than just a great event. It is about giving back, supporting our community, and preserving the traditions that make Clovis special. This recognition belongs to our volunteers, our partners, and the entire community that makes this rodeo possible year after year.”
The honor highlights a broader mission that has defined the Clovis Rodeo for generations — blending a longstanding community tradition with continued investments in education, youth programs, health care and local causes.
