LONG BEACH, Calif. – Midfielder Ameera White was named the Big West Freshman of the Week after major contributions to Women’s Soccer running their unbeaten streak to six games this past week.
Long Beach State scored four goals over two games and Ameera White had an assist on three of them. White combined with Radisson Banks to set up the second goal on the road at UC Riverside, and started the action on two corner kick goals, one against the Highlanders and one Sunday against UC Irvine.
White now leads the team with five assists this season, and is third overall in the conference in her first season at Long Beach State.
White is the second Freshman of the Week award winner this season for Long Beach State. Natelle El Mokbel was previously selected after scoring the game-winner, her second of the season, against New Mexico State on September 14.
Long Beach State will have a pair of important road games this week, facing two Big West opponents at Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday and at UC Davis on Sunday.
