BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The California Highway Patrol Central Division, in conjunction with the Bakersfield Police Department, will be conducting a Rapid Arrest of Intoxicated Drivers (RAID) operation, deploying DUI Saturation Patrol Task Forces throughout Kern County on Saturday, May 30.
CHP said this targeted enforcement effort is part of the ongoing commitment to reduce the number of DUI-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities in the Central Valley.
According to CHP, in 2025, CHP Central Division investigated 2,442 DUI-related crashes, ending in serious injuries or fatalities.
CHP said the RAID operation is to:
Proactively remove impaired drivers from the road.Identify contributing factors to DUI-related crashes.Increase public awareness about the dangers and consequences of impaired driving.
