International Smoke, the downtown San Francisco barbecue restaurant co-founded by lifestyle personality Ayesha Curry and celebrity chef Michael Mina, has permanently closed its doors.
The Mina Group confirmed the closure of the establishment, which had been a staple on the ground floor of Millennium Tower and the city’s dining scene since its debut in 2017.
The restaurant marked a major milestone for Curry, serving as her first brick-and-mortar culinary venture and helping to launch her career in the food industry. Over its multiyear run, the eatery gained popularity for its global approach to barbecue and grilled dishes.
While International Smoke has closed, the partnership between the Mina Group and the Curry family remains active in the city. Bourbon Bar, a collaboration between Mina and NBA star Steph Curry, Ayesha Curry’s husband, continues to operate inside The Westin St. Francis.
The Mina Group did not disclose the reason for the closure but announced that a new restaurant concept will soon take over the space.
