Deputies and SWAT officers responded Friday to a man armed with a knife barricaded inside an Oakland Park apartment, officials said.
The incident began at around 6 p.m. with a report of an armed man in the 800 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies responded alongside paramedics, the man retreated inside an apartment and barricaded himself.
The surrounding apartments were evacuated as a precaution.
BSO’s K-9 and SWAT and Violent Crimes unit responded to the scene.
