A man was airlifted to a Fresno hospital with serious injuries after his truck crashed into a train.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 2:41 p.m. at Conejo and Peach avenues, just west of Kingsburg.
CHP spokesperson Mike Salas said the pickup drove through the crossing arms and hit a stopped BNSF train heading south.
Salas said distracted driving likely caused the crash because there were no skid marks on the road.
The victim is a 49-year-old man from Caruthers.
The area was closed off for several hours.
