A series of forums with candidates for Oakland County judgeships are scheduled for June, giving voters the opportunity to hear the contenders speak on issues prior to the Aug. 4 primary election.
Candidates will field questions from the Oakland County Bar Association, Oakland County Legal News and other media members during the forums, which will be moderated by a representative from the League of Women Voters. The events are open to the public, and local citizens are invited to attend and submit questions for candidate response. Attendees must pre-register at ocba.org/judicial_candidates.

Another forum is being planned for September, ahead of the November general election, for 51st District Court judicial candidates.
The forums are a result of a partnership of the Oakland County Bar Association, League of Women Voters-Oakland Area, the Oakland County Legal News and the Oakland County Times with assistance from the Theta Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha.
The forums will be recorded for online viewing and potentially aired on local cable stations.
