BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield’s annual Independence Day celebration and free fireworks show will return to The Park at River Walk in 2026, with the U.S. 250 Tour joining the event.
The fireworks show is scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, at the park. The day’s events are set to begin at 10 a.m. and culminate with fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m.

The celebration will include the US 250 Tour’s Freedom Village, a live music performance, family-friendly activities, and a multimedia production of American history featuring a “Hall of Giants” hologram experience with Benjamin Franklin.
Parkgoers may see the event setup as early as July 2. Traffic closures in the area are set to begin at 9 p.m. and are expected to end around 11 p.m.

Alcohol will not be permitted in the park during the celebration, and glass containers of any kind are prohibited. Several food vendors are also expected to be available during the event.
