Police in Long Beach are searching for a man in connection with a stabbing that left a woman hospitalized late last week.
The first incident occurred just after 10:30 p.m. on May 29 in the 4500 block of California Avenue in the Long Beach neighborhood of Bixby Knolls, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Investigators said a woman was walking outside a condo complex where she lives when a man approached and stabbed her multiple times, leaving her with injuries to her upper and lower body.
In footage of the response by police and firefighters, blood is visible on the sidewalk outside the building. The victim can be seen with blood on her legs and face as she is wheeled on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance.
She was hospitalized in stable condition, authorities said.

One couple who heard the woman’s screams for help told KTLA’s Carlos Saucedo that they were not sure at first what was happening.
“When I heard a woman yelling, ‘Call the police, I’ve been stabbed. I live here, let me in the building,’ that’s when I was like, ‘We should call 911,’” Rafael Molinar said.
Alyssa Guhit confirmed his account and said that at one point the victim asked a person passing in a white pickup truck for help. That person reportedly drove off before eventually returning and giving a witness statement to police.
A surveillance photo of the suspect in that case has been released.

In that instance, a male suspect fled the scene, leaving the victim, another man, with a stab wound to the upper body, Long Beach Watchdog reported.
He was rushed to a hospital by paramedics and is expected to recover.
Investigators have not said whether they believe the two stabbings are connected, though they say the circumstances and motives in the two stabbings remain under investigation.
