• The La Jolla Historical Society and the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library present a new Teen Art Night from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the Historical Society, 780 Prospect St., as part of the “Growing Together” community series. The event invites middle and high school students to create hands-on art through a drawing and watercolor session with illustrator and painter Lori Mitchell, author and illustrator of “Different Just Like Me” and teacher of “Playing with Pen and Watercolor” through the Athenaeum. • The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego presents “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys,” an exhibition consisting of more than 130 works of art and set to the soundtrack of Marvin Gaye, through Sunday, Aug. 9, at 700 Prospect St., La Jolla.
A “Reflections” series inspired by the exhibit will take place Fridays, June 5, 12, 19 and 26.
