Complete election results for June 2 primary in San Diego County

And below is a quick summary of key races with with 462,155 ballots counted in San Diego County and 73.4% of precincts statewide reporting partial results.

Since it’s a primary, the top-two vote getters will advance to the Nov. 3 general election.

Governor — Republican Steve Hilton is leading at 27.5% followed by Democrat Xavier Becerra with 25.5% and Democrat Tom Steyer at 19.6%. Click for statewide table.

Other State Offices — Incumbents Rob Bonta and Shirley Weber appear set for re-election as Attorney General and Secretary of State with tallies over 50%. Leading for Lieutenant Governor are Fiona Ma at 19.7%, Gloria Romero at 19.9% and Josh Fryday at 13.9%. For Insurance Commissioner, it’s Jane Kim at 23.8%, Ben Allen at 19.6% and Stacy Korsgaden at 17.6%. And for Superintendent of Public Instruction the leaders are Sonja Shaw at 24.9%, Richard Barrera at 19.3% and Wendy Leal at 9.9%. Click for all state office results.

Congress — In the contested 48th District, it’s Jim Desmond at 41.3%, followed by Marni von Wilpert at 20.0% and Ammar Campa-Najjar at 9.6%. Click for full district results.

State Senate — In the contested 40th District, Democrat Mara Elliott has 44.4% to Republican Kristie Bruce-Lane’s 30.0% .

County Supervisor — In District 5, Republican Rebecca Jones has 41%, followed by Democrat Kyle Krahel with 20.1% and Republican John Franklin at 19.4%.

San Diego City Council — In District 2, Richard Bailey leads with 38.8% of the vote, followed by Nicole Crosby at 31.3% and Josh Coyne at 11.3%. In District 4, challenger Martha Abraham is leading incumbent Henry Foster II by 40.2% to 38.6%. In District 6, incumbent Kent Lee is ahead of challenger Mark Powell by 55% to 44.6%. And in District 8, Antonio Martinez leads with 29%, followed by Gerardo Ramirez at 23.7% and Venus Molina with 21.3%.

Measure A — The measure to tax second homes is losing 57.8% to 42.2%.

Chula Vista — Incumbent Mayor John McCann appears headed for re-election with 60.3% of the vote. In City Council District 1, incumbent Carolina Chavez leads with 41.9% of the vote to Greg Martinez’ 25.3%. In District 2, it’s Jose Preciado at 45.5% followed by Angelica Martinez at 28%.
