Oakland County Restaurant Quest: Chopped Olive in Novi

(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 3, 2026)

Novi, MI – Those looking for a fast and healthy lunch or dinner option in Novi might enjoy Chopped Olive, which features modern Mediterranean fare that is perfect for carry out or dining in. Salads and sandwiches are made to order, with the fresh ingredients laid out before your eyes.

The Chopped Olive Salad seemed an appropriate place to start. Though you can make additions and removals, the standard has a fresh mix of lettuces, chickpeas, olives, red onions, pappadew, tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta cheese. Add on items like beets, pickled turnips, pickles, turshi, and pita chips. And of course there are protein options like chicken shawarma, salmon kabob, gyro meat, falafel, steak shawarma and more. Lastly guest can pick their dressing from a slew of choices like tahini, harissa, tzatkiki, fattoush, garlic whip, and even ranch.  I had mine without tomato, with extra olives, and with tzatziki dressing, making it a tangy, salty delight.

Chopped Olive also serves up street quesadillas and wraps. I had the Mediterranean steak street quesadilla which comes with melted mozzarella, feta, onions, and tomatoes. This is an even easier lunch for those on the go, and it can be made with other proteins as well.

And for dessert I had baklava made with layers of filo dough and chopped nuts, and flavored with syrup. There are also coolers full of interesting beverage choices, with coconut water being the one I picked.

Another popular meal at Chopped Olive is their line of rice and bulgar bowls, also with customizable ingredients.

Lentil soup is also on the menu, along with other Middle Eastern staples like tabouli, hummus, baba ghannouj, grape leaves, and falafel. And a house specialty is the kale-bouli which is made with kale, parsley, mint, tomatoes, red onion, and quinoa.

Chopped Olive is located at 47454 Grand River Avenue (at Grand River and Beck) in Novi. Order online, or in person you can pick the fast counter service.  Learn more at http://www.choppedolive.com.
