
Vegetation fire burning in Kern River Canyon, KCFD advising only local traffic allowed through
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A vegetation fire has broken out in Kern County, outside of Bakersfield, sending thick gray smoke out into the area.

The smoldering vegetation fire is burning in Kern River Canyon, near Caliente Bodfish Road and Walter Road.
Kern County Fire Department personnel are on the scene and are now saying the fire has mapped at 100 acres with winds pushing the fire at a moderate rate.

KCFD is advising that there only local traffic is being allowed through the area at this time.
