The case against a 51-year-old Detroit man accused of robbing a Bloomfield Township bank in April has advanced to Oakland County Circuit Court, where he has other felony cases pending from alleged crimes in Novi and Waterford.
For the Bloomfield Township case, Judge Marc Barron of 48th District Court bound over the case against Deshawn Steven Johnson on June 4, at the conclusion of a preliminary exam for one count of bank robbery.
The incident allegedly happened on April 1 at Mi Bank located at 3707 W. Maple Rd. when, according to police, Johnson reportedly showed a clerk a message on his phone stating: “Robbery, give me all the $100.00’s and $50.00’s, No Disturbances.”
The clerk gave Johnson the cash from her drawer, and Johnson fled the bank with the money, police said.
Johnson was arrested in Southfield on April 3 and booked into the Oakland County Jail early the next morning.

Johnson has also been tied to felonies in Novi and Waterford involving ID theft and financial transaction device crimes. His next court appearance on all three cases is scheduled for June 17 before Judge Nanci Grant. For now, he’s jailed with bond set at more than $1 million.
