SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A suspected illegal gambling operation in South Sacramento County was shut down after a multi-agency investigation led to a search warrant served by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Central Division Problem-Oriented Policing Team (POP), with help from the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) and the Elk Grove Police Department, searched a location believed to be operating an unlawful gambling business.
During the operation, deputies found five firearms, casino-style gambling machines and electronic devices that investigators say may contain evidence. Detectives collected digital evidence, including hard drives and other storage media.
Authorities also seized gambling equipment and cash believed to represent more than $100,000 in illegal proceeds. The investigation remains ongoing.
