BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — UPDATE (8:08 PM)

Rosamond residents who live in KRN-152-A and KRN-153-A are under evacuation warnings, once again, according to the Genasys Protect app.

The evacuation center at Rosamond High School has stood down and is no longer open as the order was downgraded.

Residents should still prepare to leave at any moment, right away if necessary.

UPDATE (7:45 PM)

Residents who live in Genasys Protect areas KRN-152-A and KRN-153-A are ordered to evacuate, according to the Genasys Protect app.

An evacuation center has been set up at:

Rosamond High School
2925 West Rosamond Boulevard

Animal services will assist residents with sheltering animals at the center.

For those who have physical limitations and require evacuation assistance, they are asked to call the Aging & Adult Services hotline at 1-855-264-6565.

For those with access and functional needs, special needs sheltering equipment is available at open shelter locations. This doesn’t include oxygen concentrators or medication, said officials.

A 1,000-plus-acre wildfire in southeast Kern and Los Angeles counties has prompted evacuation warnings for Rosamond residents who live in Genasys Protect areas KRN-152-A and KRN-153-A.

Cal Fire said the “Macy Fire” has burned 1,194 acres so far.

People should prepare to leave at any time. ReadyKern said the so-called “Macy Fire” has become a threat to residents south of Rosamond, which borders Los Angeles County.

The wildfire started just before 3:45 p.m. in the area of Highway 138 and 120th Street West in Lancaster, said Cal Fire’s website.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said some residents in Lancaster are being asked to shelter in place.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
