BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An 18-year-old accused of leading Bakersfield police on a high-speed chase that ended in a deadly crash is now facing a murder charge.

Ramiro Andres Gutierrez-Ramos is accused of driving a stolen truck when he led Bakersfield police on a pursuit last week.

Investigators said the chase ended at Panama Lane and Tejon Highway, where the truck ran a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle.

The other driver, 39-year-old Amy Menefee, was killed.
