A saunter through Long Beach can be a sweet treat for the senses: Excellent art is all around, and feeling inspired and moved can happen on most any street or corner if a colorful building happens to catch your eye.

While murals are available to enjoy around LBC at any time, on any day of the year, we pause to celebrate the city’s exuberant creativity on a larger scale as summer approaches, thanks to Long Beach Walls and Art Renzei.

Watching mondo murals as they’re painted is the fabulous and festive focus of the multi-day celebration. The annual week-long happening is back from June 8 through 13, and the buoyant and busy calendar is live.

Visit the underway murals on your own schedule or join a special event during the week; this 2025 mural by Candy Kuo was painted at Renaissance High School.

If you’d like to be part of the official launch, there’s a kick-off set for The Cove on June 10. Visit Long Beach is the host of the free gathering, and if you’d like to be there, you’ll want to register ahead of time.

Other events include Brian Floats — watch a sizable and spirited piece come together with the help of a trampoline — and a bike ride by the 2026 murals.

The “New Decade Celebration” in 2026 is “… a dynamic transformation turning Long Beach into a vibrant canvas of creativity,” share organizers. “We are bringing impactful new murals to local schools, actively uplifting the youth, and revitalizing very busy public areas.”

Animalitoland: Renaissance High School, 800 Locust Avenue

Huntz Liu: Terrace Theater Plaza, west wall, 66 Collins Way

Bamboo Yang and Bublegum: Hyatt Regency, 200 S. Pine Avenue

Adry Del Rocio: Queen Mary Stern Entrance Tower, 1126 Queens Highway
