The Academy of Financial Education has received the 2026 Inclusion Award and the 2026 Outstanding Educational Program Award from the Financial Therapy Association, according to a news release.
The awards recognize organizations that demonstrate excellence in promoting financial wellness through innovative and inclusive educational programs.
Founded by financial professional and certified financial therapy practitioner Samuel Molina, The Academy of Financial Education provides financial education and financial therapy services to communities throughout California.
According to the organization, the Inclusion Award honors efforts to foster diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging within financial education and financial therapy.
The Outstanding Educational Program Award recognizes programs that demonstrate innovation, measurable impact and excellence in advancing financial well-being.
Molina said the recognition reflects the organization’s focus on addressing both the practical and emotional aspects of personal finance.
“This recognition affirms our belief that financial well-being extends beyond dollars and cents,” Molina said in a statement.
He added that the organization’s programs are designed to help participants understand how life experiences, beliefs and emotions can influence financial behaviors and long-term financial outcomes.
The Academy of Financial Education serves a range of populations, including youth, adults, veterans, immigrants, justice-impacted individuals and other underserved groups.
According to the news release, the organization has delivered more than 100 educational presentations, workshops and financial therapy opportunities aimed at expanding access to financial knowledge and reducing barriers to financial stability.
The recognition comes as financial therapy continues to gain attention as a field that combines financial education with behavioral and emotional wellness strategies, Molina said.
“We remain committed to creating pathways toward financial empowerment and helping individuals build healthier relationships with money,” Molina said.
