Queen Mary’s ‘Movies on Deck’ is part of a bustling summer at the LBC landmark – NBC Los Angeles

The Queen Mary has atmosphere to spare, which makes the storied ship a cinematic space to explore on any day of the year.

But when summer is reaching its full-bloomed zenith, and the temperatures are moving into the outdoor-movie zone, the famous ocean-liner moves further into cinema-cool territory, without moving an inch from its permanent home in Long Beach.

How? By screening Movies on Deck, an outdoor film series celebrating some of the best blockbusters of yore.

Tickets are available for purchase for the 2026 films, which start June 11 with a fedora-topped favorite: It’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” with the ever-dashing Indiana Jone archeology-ing up our world, one priceless cave-hidden treasure at a time.

It’s the 45th anniversary of the Steven Spielberg-helmed adventure, which has treasure maps, snakes, and supernatural spunkiness to spare.

“Back to the Future” is also marking a milestone in 2026, the beloved flick’s big 40th, so slip into something Marty McFly might have worn while driving Doc Brown’s DeLorean into the past and/or future and stop by the ship July 16.

No, the Queen Mary never moved courtesy of the flux capacitor, but it still looks as if it could easily sail through the veils of time.

And rounding out the summer? It’s “JAWS” on Aug. 13, and if you dun-dun-dun-dun your way to Long Beach, which will require you skirting a bit of the ocean as you approach the Queen Mary, that is up to you.

There’s another movie series coming aboard this summer: Movies on the Mary. “Pirates of the Caribbean” is the ahoy-tastic theme, the films begin in mid-July and will screen weekly through mid-August, and the whole rollicking series will take place indoors at the Queen Mary Theater.
