Derek Tran and Chuong Vo are currently leading the race for the District 45 U.S. Representative seat.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, Tran is leading the race with 48.63% of votes, totaling 45,584 votes.
Chuong Vo has garnered the second-highest poll with 15.49%, or 14,520 total votes.
The primary Republican features incumbent Democratic candidate Tran and Republican candidates Mark Leonard, Chi Charlie Nguyen, Amy Phan West, Tom Vo and Chuong Vo.
Nguyen is trailing behind Chuong Vo with 13.69% of the votes.
District 45 encompasses areas of Brea, Fullerton, Artesia, Cerritos, Cypress, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley and others.
The two candidates with the most votes will move on to the general midterm elections for all races, regardless of party affiliation. Election day for the midterm elections is Nov. 3, and ballots will be mailed no later than Oct. 5.
