A suspect was fatally shot by Glendale Police Department officers during a confrontation in Glendale and an investigation of the shooting is underway Tuesday.
Officers were called at approximately 9:07 p.m. Monday to the 3700 block of Honolulu Avenue and Lowell Avenue, west of the 210 Freeway where they encountered the suspect, Sgt. Gaik Pobokhian, a Glendale Police Department spokesman, told City News Service.
The suspect was shot and killed at the scene, Pobokhian said.
It was not immediately known if the suspect was armed or why police responded to the location.
The 3600 and 3700 blocks of Honolulu near the freeway will be closed through the early morning due to the shooting investigation, Pobokhian said.
