(FOX40.COM) — A grass fire destroyed several outbuildings on Wednesday afternoon in south Sacramento County, fire officials said.
Firefighters from multiple departments arrived at the reported grass fire around 12:55 p.m. in the area of Elder Creek Road and Bradshaw Boulevard, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said.
The fire was contained to two acres, but four outbuildings, described as three small sheds and one larger barn-style shed, burned down. Video shared by fire officials showed at least one vehicle engulfed in flames.
A FOX40 crew was at the scene when the fire reignited around 4 p.m., damaging an additional building after firefighters had left. Fire crews re-arrived minutes later.
The fire was contained to two acres, but four outbuildings, described as three small sheds and one larger barn-style shed, burned down.
No injuries were reported, fire officials said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“This time of year, we’re hitting those first days of 100-degree temperatures, low humidities, high wind,” Capt. Mark Nunez with Sac Metro Fire told FOX40. “We anticipate that we have the perfect storm for fires like this for the next couple of days.”
