The only thing better than a summer filled with live entertainment is one that’s also completely free! And that’s what you’ll find at the historic 1929 Recreation Park Bandshell this year in Long Beach.
Friends of Recreation Park Bandshell is a local nonprofit with a mission to reactivate and revitalize the historic space of Bandshell Park. The organization has invited all 240+ Long Beach Gives nonprofits to their Long Beach Gives Live! Expo & Festival on Sept. 15, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Shell at Recreation Park. The neocolonial-style shell, stage and seating have been completely renovated in recent years, and there’s a summer of fun activities for all. Parking is also free, but can be a challenge at times.
Here’s the announced lineup:
Bring your own picnic or buy food there. There’s bench seating in front of the stage, and a lawn where you can sit under the trees if you bring your own chairs. There’s also a great kids playground nearby. 701-939 Federation Drive, Long Beach. liveattheshell.org
