The New York Giants hosted the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in hopes of snapping a two-game losing streak in front of a MetLife Stadium crowd.

Instead, after an impressive opening drive where the Giants took a 7-0 lead, San Francisco dominated the rest of the afternoon. For much of the game — and even with the way the final score ended up — the score was not a true indicator of how much Big Blue was dominated in this game.

At times, it seemed like there were more 49ers fans in the stands than Giants fans.

Jaxson Dart continued to battle hard and played well, given the fact that the offense was missing Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, and Jermaine Eluemunor. Dart also had several good throws that were dropped by his pass catchers.

Outside of Brian Burns, the defense had another disappointing day, struggling to slow down the 49ers’ rush attack, and the Giants did not force an incompletion in the entirety of the first half. The defense also did a poor job finishing their tackles, and the 49ers took advantage of it all day long.

After going five straight quarters not allowing a single point, the Giants’ defense has now allowed 105 points in the last nine quarters of play.

The Giants dropped to 2-7 on the season and clearly lost a ton of energy surrounding the team when they lost Cam Skattebo last week.
