BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 9-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital after a possible drowning at Kaweah Lake on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after 3:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were called to the lake for a report of a possible drowning. When rescue crews arrived, they were told a 9-year-old girl was missing in the water.

A man who was nearby heard the commotion, found the girl and pulled her out of the water. He immediately began CPR, and deputies took over CPR when they arrived.
