BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Triple-digit heat is settling into Kern County, and residents looking for relief can soon head to cooling centers when available.
Cooling centers opened June 1 and will run through Sept. 22. They will operate on days when temperatures reach dangerous levels.
Hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Anyone who needs a ride can call 2-1-1.
