Ariana Grande officially returned to the road Saturday night, June 6, launching her highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine Tour at Oakland Arena and giving fans their first look at a setlist that spans nearly every era of her career. The opening-night show marked Grande’s first concert tour since wrapping the Sweetener World Tour in late 2019, ending a six-and-a-half-year gap between major live outings.

According to Variety, the 23-song performance leaned heavily on material from Eternal Sunshine, the album that inspired the tour’s name. Songs including “Yes, And?,” “The Boy Is Mine,” “Eternal Sunshine,” “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” and the show-closing “Supernatural” were among the tracks featured during the concert. Grande also pulled from Positions, Thank U, Next, Dangerous Woman, My Everything, and Yours Truly, while debuting “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” the lead single from her upcoming album Petal, which is scheduled for release on July 31.

The production itself extended the themes of Eternal Sunshine beyond the music. Video interludes played during costume changes followed a storyline centered on memory erasure, echoing the concept behind the album’s title.

Later in the show, Grande shifted focus from large ensemble choreography to more intimate solo moments on a secondary stage that stretched deep into the arena floor.

The concert ended with Grande elevated above the audience inside a suspended lighting structure as “Supernatural” reached its climax.

The tour launch also follows months of speculation over Grande’s next musical chapter. After comments from a recent interview sparked speculation that another album would arrive sooner than expected, the singer corrected the narrative on Instagram. “Welp, I never said ‘but soon enough’ or mentioned any months!” she wrote, adding that fans seemed to think there was “a clone of me out there somewhere.”

When some interpreted the comments as a hint that new music could arrive during the tour, Grande responded, “Ma’am i would need an extra brain and four more arms.”

The Eternal Sunshine Tour remains a relatively limited run by arena-pop standards, with dates scheduled across North America before a 10-night stand at London’s O2 Arena. Demand has remained strong, with resale prices reaching well above face value for many dates.
