Re “S.D. OKs deal to end paid lots in park, slash trash fees” (June 9): The million dollars wasted on setting up parking meters, kiosks and signs at Balboa Park will now serve as monuments to incompetence and an unbelievable, disgusting waste of taxpayer money. San Diego cannot afford to throw away money like that, but apparently our inept, clumsy and incapable elected leaders are on a path of self-destruction. The good people of San Diego should be able to fire them all.
To make a small amendment to this disaster, charge for parking strictly on the weekends. That way some funds would come in, primarily from tourists.
