CALIFORNIA (FOX26) — The Central California Blood Center is urgently seeking O-negative blood donors after supplies dropped to less than a one-day inventory.
Officials say O-negative blood is especially critical because it can be given to patients of any blood type during emergencies.
It is commonly used for trauma patients, emergency surgeries, and newborns receiving care in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs).

Without immediate donations, hospitals across the region could face challenges maintaining adequate supplies for emergency care.
Eligible donors are encouraged to make an appointment as soon as possible at a Central California Blood Center donor center or mobile blood drive.
