Police investigate major injury wreck in northwest Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department investigated a major injury wreck on Fruitvale Avenue Sunday morning.

A man driving a Mitsubishi Outlander was transported to the hospital Nov. 2, after sustaining major injuries during a crash in the intersection of Hageman Road and Fruitvale Avenue, according to BPD.

As of last update, he is in critical condition, police said.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at 7:03 a.m. Two people inside a Mazda Miata involved in the wreck were treated with minor injuries at a nearby hospital.

Speed and intoxication are believed to be factors in the collision, police said.
