Dave Grohl recently rocked an Adidas Korn tracksuit on Instagram, and it turns out it was a teaser for a surprise Foo Fighters show in Korn’s hometown of Bakersfield, California.

“This time of year always makes me think of Kornfields,” wrote Grohl on the caption for the Instagram post this past Saturday. The pioneering nu-metal band was quick to notice the endorsement, with vocalist Jonathan Davis, guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer, and drummer Ray Luzier all replying in the comments.

“Ill send you one of mine,” wrote Davis with a heart and a laugh-cry emoji.

The next morning, Foo Fighters announced they would be playing a pop-up show at the Nile Theater in downtown Bakersfield on Monday. Walk-up ticket sales immediately began at the local box office, with hundreds lining up according to a local news report. Tickets quickly sold out.

The gig follows Foo Fighters’ run of pop-up show in September — some of their first live performances with new drummer Ilan Rubin. A full North American stadium tour with Queens of the Stone Age is for Summer 2026. Get tickets here.

In other news, Grohl and company dropped their second new song of 2025, “Asking for a Friend,” last month upon the announcement of the tour. The track is “one of many songs to come,” according to Grohl.

You can see his Instagram post in the Korn tracksuit.
