A man is in custody following a standoff in a south Sacramento neighborhood on Thursday, according to officials. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said a wanted felony suspect was inside a home on the 4700 block of Goya Parkway, east of Franklin Boulevard. SWAT surrounded the home and nearby residents were evacuated out of a abundance of caution, the sheriff’s office said.Video from a KCRA 3 news crew showed authorities taking a man into custody. Authorities said he was a parolee-at-large. The sheriff’s office added that deputies tried to arrest the wanted parolee, but ran inside and hid in the garage. After his arrest, the suspect, identified as Austin Carter, was treated for a police dog bite, according to authorities.
