A speeding motorcyclist died after colliding with a vehicle in San Jose last week, authorities said.
The motorcyclist was traveling north on N. 24th Street “at a high rate of speed” when he collided with a truck that was backing out of a driveway onto the street just before 6 p.m. last Friday, San Jose police announced Monday.
The motorcyclist, identified only as a man, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver wasn’t injured and cooperated with investigators, police said.
