BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Toucan Trolley will keep rolling in downtown Bakersfield for at least six more months.

The GET Bus board of directors has approved a six-month extension of the downtown trolley pilot program, which launched in January.

The service was created to improve connections between Old Town Kern and the downtown business corridor.
Officials said the extension will allow them to continue evaluating ridership demand, mobility benefits and community feedback before making any long-term decisions about the service.
