Authorities on Monday arrested a suspect in connection with the murders of two teenagers who were shot and killed during a Halloween party in Chula Vista on Friday night.

Chula Vista police, coordinating with the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force, took 18-year-old David Garcia of National City into custody around 1:35 p.m. Monday, according to the police department.

The arrest comes three days after officers responded to reports of a shooting on East Prospect Street near Castle Park High School at 11:17 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, they found 15-year-old Kane Roldan of San Diego and 17-year-old Elias Yanez of Imperial Beach injured from the shooting.

Both victims were taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators say Roldan and Yanez were attending a party when an argument broke out, which led to shots being fired.

The family of Kane Roldan are remembering him after he was killed at a Halloween Party in Chula Vista on Halloween night, reports NBC 7’s Kelvin Henry.

Garcia was booked into the county jail on murder charges, according to the department. Police say they believe there are no other suspects at this time, but that more arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

“This arrest resulted from extensive investigative work by detectives, which included valuable information provided through San Diego County Crime Stoppers,” the department said in a news release Monday evening.
