The guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald returned to San Diego after a three month deployment to the Indo-Pacific. 

The ship returned to Naval Base San Diego last Friday, with more than 330 sailors on board. 

During the deployment, the Fitzgerald carried out a range of missions focused on maritime security, logistics and multinational cooperation including international exercises with the Royal Australian Navy.   

The ship will undergo maintenance to reset combat readiness, its crew will begin post-deployment leave before returning to base for training.
