A woman was hospitalized after she was hit by gunfire while inside her Fresno home early Thursday.
Officers with the Fresno Police Department responded to the shooting at 2:30 a.m. at S. Holloway and E. Grove Avenues. They located the victim, who had been shot multiple times in the upper torso.
She was taken to a local hospital, where she is in stable condition.
According to Marcus Gray II, multiple shell casings were found on the street, but they don’t know “what exactly happened, as far as the shooting itself, but there are multiple rounds in the middle of the roadway at this residence.”
Detectives are investigating the motive for the shooting.
Gray II added that another shooting occurred at Eugenia and Barton, where a house was hit nearby.
No injuries were reported at that home.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call the police at 559-621-7000.
