The family of Lovett Moore Jr., a legally blind man who disappeared from a Sacramento gas station on June 28, 2025, gathered at the site one year later to pray and ask for the community’s help in finding him. Surveillance footage showed Moore, known as L-J, inside the Aisle One gas station on Arena Boulevard that day, wearing a green shirt and black shorts. His family said visiting the store was part of his daily routine, but he never returned home on that day. “I’m asking God to please come in and bring my baby home,” Pamela Matthews, Moore’s mother, said. “I just want him home. You know he can’t just vanish. Nobody can just vanish off this world and there’s no trace or anything,” said Moore’s sister, Tashay Price. Sacramento police confirmed the case remains open but said there are no new updates. “While there are no new updates in LJ’s case at this time, we continue to ask anyone with any information regarding LJ’s whereabouts to contact the Sacramento Police Department,” the department said in a statement. Price expressed frustration with the investigation.“I just want them to do their job, give our family the peace and the justice that we deserve,” she said. Johnny Tillis, his brother, described the situation as overwhelming.“This is like a nightmare that we cannot get out of our heads,” he said. Despite the lack of answers, Moore’s family remains determined to find him. “We’re still praying. We will not give up,” Price said. The family has suspected foul play in Moore’s disappearance, but Sacramento police have not confirmed this in their investigation.
