The Camel Valley Lavender Farm, next to the Oasis Camel Dairy, is open throughout July on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 8-acre fields are planted with more than 3,000 lavender plants, of five varieties. The fields are peaceful and make for lovely photographs, the owners say.

Visitors can purchase pick-your-own lavender bouquets, as well as hand-crafted lavender products and essential oils. Beverages and snacks are also available.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors can also meet the camels with their keeper.

Ramona Band donates proceeds of concert to Town Hall renovations

The Ramona band A Darker Shade Of Black raised over $900 for Ramona Town Hall renovations at the first Headbangers Ball on June 13 at the Town Hall. The group presented a check for $1,000 to Town Hall officials on June 24.
The concert with two other bands, Beta7 Band and the CFA Band drew about 70 people of all ages.
The next show — the Ramona Town Hall-O-Ween Skullbangers ball — is set to kick off the season of Samhain on Friday, Sept. 18.
RFCC adds 20% discount to teachers and first responders
The Ramona Food and Clothes Closet has added a 20% off discount to local teachers and first responders in an effort to help the community at a time of money concerns.
This discount is added to the existing discounts RFCC offers to seniors 55+, students and military members, said Vesna Curry, RFCC manager.
Shoppers just need to show one of those current IDs before making a purchase to receive any of the discounts.
“RFCC hopes that by spending less on all these purchases and having an opportunity for free food daily in our Food Services, this will help leave more funds for your other monthly bills,” Curry said.
