• The La Jolla Woman’s Club hosts “Ellen Browning Scripps: Her Passion for Education” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7791 Draper Ave. The Women in Leadership Series event will feature Ella Strong Denison Library Director Jennifer Martinez Wormser and interns Nicole Teh and Jannat Verma from Scripps College in Claremont in Los Angeles County. The library holds archival records of famed La Jolla philanthropist Scripps, the college’s founder and namesake and Woman’s Club founder.
