Re “San Diego counts the homeless, not outcomes” (June 30): David Lee Condrey makes a most profound observation regarding the actual, physical help provided, or in this case, not provided, that needs to be acted upon beginning immediately by all concerned who claim to be assisting those who truly deserve to be helped.

For far too long we have been applying a politically correct approach to our homeless community. These individuals deserve real, true concrete assistance and not just a program which excludes the input of those whom it is supposed to be assisting. If we truly want to assist the homeless, listen to them and be sure to include them in the process. Thanks to Mr. Condrey for pointing out this gaping omission.
